               Essay Basics

              HW: RJ 6.3 Read for 20-30 min or iReady

              We came in and all sat down. As we sit down, we settle in and take our binder reminders out. Ms. Nakada plays the daily take a minute breathing exercise. After we did our take a minute breathing, Hailey 

read her Blog. When Hailey was finished, she then chose Isabella and I to write the next blog. As Hailey and I took our seat to do the blog, Ms. Nakada had everyone take out their reading journal and turn to the page with the poem we glued in yesterday. The poem we were reading was "The Contract Says: We'd Like the Conversation to be Bilingual" by Ada Limon. While we review, the poem we write what the poet is trying to interpret as we go. Near the end of class, we had a gallery walk and showed our projects.
